Stape should automatically pass those, too. You can confirm that in your Events Manager. I create custom events in GTM and have no need to touch anything in Stape.

Plugins slow things down, yes.

Somewhat complicated answer, but I originally set up a GTM container for the API years ago before I used Stape. I don’t believe that I’m using it now. I know there are ways to use Stape involving a more direct integration with GTM, but I didn’t set it up that way.

I ask as at the moment I'm using Stape's sGTM container as I already had everything set up in GTM for the FB Conversions API and presumed this was the way to go, but now I've read this I'm thinking I should have set up using their FB CAPI Gateway instead but I'm not sure how to adjust my GTM (or if I should/need to).

I suppose all I'm really asking is do you have both a web and server container still set up in GTM or just the web container?

This is exactly what I do. Yes, all events are deduplicated — standard and custom events.
